Dried Pressed Flowers

Dried pressed flowers are desired for their flat shape. This makes them useful for two-dimensional applications. Examples of such uses include as decoration for scrapbooks, homemade papers, and place cards. They may also be framed with pictures or as works themselves.

To make dried pressed flowers it is important to start by collecting specimens which are in prime condition. Of course, many people enjoy selecting flowers which are at different stages of development as well. This allows for more variety to be put into the design of whatever is created from these items.

Dried pressed flowers should not be made from wilting materials. It is also wise to avoid specimens which have fleshy leaves or stems. Also, very thin petals on flowers should be avoided. Flat flowers, like pansies, press best.
